1. Information We Collect
SplitMonX collects information strictly necessary to provide seamless bill-splitting and expense-tracking services, including your name, email address, group names, expense titles, transaction amounts, and optional receipt images you choose to upload.
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal or financial data to third-party ad networks or brokers.
2. Camera & Media Usage
Receipt scans are processed on-device using machine learning (Google ML Kit Latin script). Camera and photo library access is only requested when you explicitly choose to scan a paper receipt or attach a photo to an expense.
Raw camera frames are processed in volatile memory on your physical device and are never transmitted to remote OCR servers for scanning.
3. Biometric Data & Device Security
Biometric verification (Face ID, Fingerprint, Biometric Prompt) is securely verified directly by your operating system hardware. SplitMonX never stores, transmits, or has access to raw biometric templates or fingerprint hashes.
4. Data Storage & Encryption
Expense calculations, debts, and group details are stored securely using Google Cloud Firestore with strict security rules enforcing participant-only access. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
In-chat communication uses client-side text obfuscation and transport encryption. It is designed for group collaboration, not secret end-to-end encrypted messaging.
5. Account Deletion & Data Rights (30-Day Grace Period)
In compliance with Apple App Store, Google Play, and GDPR/CCPA guidelines, you can request full account deletion and wipe of your personal records anytime directly from the Account Settings screen in the mobile app.
To prevent irreversible accidental loss, SplitMonX enforces a 30-day grace period. Your account is immediately deactivated and signed out. If you log back in within 30 days, deletion is cancelled. After 30 days of inactivity, an automated Cloud Function permanently purges your user profile, avatars, and friend associations.
